Sibir observes the Russia federation law and international legislation in environment. The Company realizes its responsibility for the country, habitants and employers.

Modern technologies let Sibir to minimize possible damages for the nature in presence regions. In particular the Company provides the mining-land reclamation program for its enterprises, that will speed up natural resources recovery of work regions.

The Integrated System to Manage Health, Safety and Environment involves all personnel at all levels. To ensure that this integrated system functions correctly, the Company has developed and introduced eleven corporate standards.

In 2006, Rosneft developed an environmental protection and industrial safety program to run until 2009, which includes construction of testing grounds and purification facilities. The Company has also set up a series of well-equipped emergency stations to handle oil spills.

Rosneft uses the latest technology and state-of-the-art production methods to provide a safe and healthy working environment for its employees and to reduce to a minimum the risk of emergencies and accidents.

Based on Rosneft’s 2006 results, the Company was awarded an honorary certificate at the Second All-Russian Ecological Conference for its role as a “Leader in Nature Conservation in Russia.” Rosneft’s nine best ecologists awarded medals.
